GRADE\nASTD10\nLOCATION OF POSITION\n653 W. Pratt St., Baltimore, MD 21204\nPOSITION DUTIES\nThis position functions as an Office Secretary III, providing support to staff and personnel in the department by processing certification and recertification of EMS personnel (pre-hospital providers) for Basic Life Support programs for the State of Maryland.\nPerform various office duties as needed using\n...\noffice technology, including Xeroxing, faxing, printing, scanning, and filing.\nProcess certification and recertification of pre-hospital providers by using the new OCS system (Image Trend): This job function involves processing applications that is submitted through Image Trend which includes: Initial EMT certification, initial EMR certification, renewal, change of name, extension request, surrender, reciprocity, reinstatement, affiliations. Upon class completion, verify that the class is on provider\u2019s training record.\nKACE System: Process requests according to the help desk request.\nMail duties: processing the daily flow of incoming and outgoing mail \u2013 opening mail, date-stamping, distributing to the appropriate person, and entering checks to QB. Outgoing mail is sorted by weight, stamped, and mailed.\nDeposits and Reports: Prepare deposits and have the supervisor or another personnel verify to QB. Deposits to the finance director and maintain records of deposits. Complete merchant report by assigning each transaction the account number accordingly, pull deposit report from QB, and email them to MIEMSS accountant and copy supervisor beginning of every month.\nHandle routine phone calls: Requires the ability to screen and route all calls to the appropriate person/coordinator. Also involves providing alternatives to callers when the person they wanted to speak with is unavailable.\nSchedule and administer basic life support written examinations for BLS clinicians.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\nExperience: Three years performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties.\nNotes:\n1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.\n2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.\n3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\nDESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nPreference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.\nGood organizational and problem solving skills, and the ability to multitask.\nProficient in Google Apps, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.
